Skateboardman, please quit explaining it to them. They don't get it and the small few that do will end up being in our way when need a spot.

if you spend $10 per night.

You do that even 4 nights a week.

    That's $160 per month.

    Or about $1820 annual.

So you have 3 or 4 things you think it's ok to spend $10 for the perks.

    That's now $5400 annually.

How many other things do you just "buy" and not compare prices?

I won't be asking for one. It's an unneeded expense.

I'll be sitting in my bobtail in a full size parking spot.

i myself dont buy anything without comparing prices. i also know i wouldnt reserve parking 4 nights a week. and i dont how you come up with 30 to 40 dollars for other perks each day.

but you can bet if i did spend 5400 dollars a year on perks, they would be accounted for in what rate i will accept.

one thing many of you havent factored in is the fact some of us having been doing this long enough to have hauled animals to noah when he filled the ark.
fact is , i aint broke no more. i still save every penny i can, but honestly my old butt dont work on the truck myself like i used to, although i still do a great amount. but i use a shop more now.

fact is, i have seen guys use more than 10 bucks worth of fuel circling the t/a lot in baytown looking for a spot. its all cost effectiveness. i save more than ten dollars a day by the way i drive.

i also pretty much save 30 bucks a day by the way save on meals and such, i can put most truck stops to shame with lunch box oven meals i cook. i dont buy chrome for the truck, me or no one else can eat it.

all things are not for all people, if i spend 10 dollars for parking, several things can be assured. i earned it, i figured out how to make it, it not going to hurt me to spend it, it is to my overall benefit , and it will get me the proper rest so i can get my job done the next day.

and ponder this, when i make myself more efficient and with money i save, i dont always look out for myself. last Tuesday at the T/A in tallulah, la at about 2 pm soldiers from the 101st airborne were making there way from ft.polk,la to ft. campbell,ky and stopped in. i waited in line with soldiers in front and soldiers in back of me to pay for fuel, when i reached the counter and paid for fuel i handed the cashier 40 dollars cash and said pay for as many soldiers behind me as you can with this, i went into the restaurant , sat a minute and walked back to the cashier handed her my credit card and , said pay for the rest of the soldiers in this line. a total of 186.00 later , i felt like a million bucks. my only regret is i couldnt pay for em all.

i also have been known to leave 10 bucks at a restaurant register and tell em to pay for the next guy who cant afford anything, i have also seen a young couple with kids and paid for their meal, i see a guy hanging out at the truckstop and buy him a meal, i see a kid who wants a candy bar and the parent cant afford it , i buy it and give it to the kid. i have done this and will continue to do this many more times.

what it makes me wonder is , if spending 10 bucks for a parking spot is so hard, how many would spend ten bucks to help someone out.

and ralph, i would probably just give him a spot after i gave him a hard time, lol.
