Simple fix. They should place signs on the spaces that are reserved so drivers know that spot is not available. Just going to have to modify their process a little. I DO NOT care for the whole pay to park thing and have voiced my opinions on this thread but how to manage the spaces is NOT an issue. Reserved spots won't be hard to enforce. Just wish they would forget the idea but that won't happen.

That's exactly what TA is doing... there are signs indicating that the spaces are reserved, and they keep track of who has paid to park in each space.

That wasn't the issue I was responding to. The issue raised was a driver is there and ready to pay for the space (that has the signs or reserved) but comes to find out the space is being held and the reservee has not yet arrived. But you can be sure the truckstop is not going to be johnny on the spot to place the signs upon reservation and you're going to deal with said issue, regardless.

And when you pay in advance your Sol no refund so make sure you can make it. The area is closed of. You call fuel desk when you arrive fuel attended comes out and moves the chain to let you in. It is a best idea and really is handy when get to a packed truck stop

Yes, I'm quite aware of how they do it. I've checked it out. I just meant they could make improvements to better mark the ones that are actually reserved versus the spots that are still available to purchase. No big deal and would cut down on some confusion. Take care out there.

If a truck stop operator/manager is going to commit to a pay/reserve parking model with some of their spaces, they need to do it right, all the time, or not even bother doing it all. One or the other. Furthermore, they need to limit these spaces to less than about 5% of their spaces or no more than about 10 max, to start. And they should all be within sight of the fuel island and managed by the fuel island personnel. and they should be slotted in full 12 hour increments. Want to stay 15 hours? pay for 24 hours.

as long as the TS own the land they have a right to do as they please
as a consumer you have the right not to go there
you dont have the right to tell them how to run thier buisness
I will gladly reserve a spot a day ahead if need be when running
late into the night with not many options in sight
part of proper trip planning or plan to park elsewhere

We dont have a God given right to park at TS it is a service they provide
