The ta in rogers mn has had this for a month. Only seen one truck in it so far. It's just dumb they won't make any money at this location off of this at all.

Just a cost of doing business and when my costs rise, so do my rates. It's simple math.

Autocar, i agree
it is a tax deduction, and you have to increase you rate of doing business, but where does it end? and if you increase your rate and your competitor does not, you wont be doing more business, but less -
Last time I looked, truckstops are businesses and businesses exist to make a profit for the owner. None of us are required to stop at them, nor are they required to provide parking for us. Look at the locations where this new program is at. None of them are lacking for business, infact, they are overrun. Have you ever pulled into Rogers, MN, or Baytown, TX, late? You cannot find parking, so you either park where you aren't supposed to and possibly get run off, or you go somewhere else. $12 for a guaranteed parking space, for 24 hours, sounds like a deal to me. If I do get there early enough to find a free space, I'll take it, but if I can't, I'll pay. It's worth that in time wasted, aggravation and fuel burned, to go somewhere else.

if the place fills up quick, a local competitor should buy up the spots and put big signs and directions to their place in those spots.

LOL...I never have a problem parking. Then again, I dont usually park at any of the mega truckstops either. I personally like helping out the little man. Get better service too. Be safe out there drivers.

I won't pay to park if I buy my fuel there..If this turns to be the trend I know I can park almost anywhere. Lots of Walmarts along my runs.

remember when water was free, air was free, coffee was free
now, every corporation is looking to see how much they can charge for any and everything
we even sell our bridges and highways to corporations who are guaranteed a profit on roads we paid for (indiana toll road)
when is the concept of charging for any and everything going to end? not to sound melodramatic, but if charging for things is the way things are, imagine the street you live on becoming a toll road, and your local politician saying "we need revenue"
it has to end, cell phones pay $30 in extra taxes, every government entity and corporation are thinking of ways to get more money out of us
sorry for the rant, but this is just one more thing that we will acquiesce toLonesomeTrucker, nikmirbre and LGarrison Thank this. -
BAD IDEA!!! Here is the issue, when parking is a problem and they chose to capitalize it. Are the gonna use those funds to build a bigger lot??? Not likely. Why would they do that when they are trying to make you pay for some of the spaces they do have. Plus, if im a CEO or COO or someone in charge at a mega carrier I would say, well we wont fuel at your stops unless we get X amount of spots reserved for our trucks.
Another thing is, they arent doing this at all locations. They arent doing this in cheyenne,WY or in Montana somewhere. They are chosing the smaller locations, Seffner,fl Eaton,oh, etc.......
