there you have it we must all think and act as the new breed and the nondriver who should not have anything to say say anything harsh you might hurt their little feelings opps or make them wakeup and start to think in stead of being sheep so sorry my views on truckstops finding more ways to rip off the drivers upset all of you but its time for the drivers to standup against truckstop rip offs over priced lumpers and dot bs

should have known it would be a non driver that could tell a driver what to think and say you are the same kind of person that would join something like patt or crash and keep sueing over things like hos and wanting more rules and regs against drivers making it harder and harder to make money out here on the road THANKS ALOT

My goodness Mike! I don't get on here for a couple days and look at what you've went and done. Haven't you read about all the drivers that just love the idea. Paying for the parking helps them do better business for their truck. They can plan their loads better. Sleep better at night with a good parking spot. It's less exercise to and from the buildings...and the list goes on and on. You should be more like some of them and feel sorry for the big truck stop owners. Land is so high and we never buy anything from them. I mean, Come on! The fuel islands are always empty no matter what time of day it is and you never see drivers standing in line to check out with chips or drinks or smokes or anything like that. The price of Cat Scale weights went up because we never use those either. I don't know why you can't read this stuff and be convinced that all truck stops are doomed if they don't charge money to park. They want us to just quit doing business with them if we don't like the idea. They like being spoiled and feeling special for paying for a spot. They don't give a crap about how well the place does business as long as they can get that special little feeling. We are cheap if we don't want to pay and so on! I guess they believe that a truck driver can actually come out here on the road(OTR or otherwise)and not spend money at these truck stops. Good luck trying to sell that one. Time for many to Wake Up! We all spend lots of money at these places and are glad we have the stops out here. That doesn't mean we are cheap because we don't like the idea. Nor does it mean we should quit doing business with them. That's like saying we shouldn't ever wash our trucks because it's going to rain next month and we won't like it when they get dirty again. Anyways, I believe you opened up a lot more issues than this thread is about. It's not really about old vs. new. It's more about what value you have on paying to park. Will the fees ever end? Or Do you feel special? Or do you just want to get on here and stir it up? No winner! No loser! Just: Like the idea! Or Don't like the idea! That's it! As I said before, I don't like the idea and I don't care how many times Autocar tries to tell me otherwise. Never going to like the idea. No matter how long it stays or how much it costs. Now try and stay out of trouble on here. Lol :)

Sonny, I never said you had to like the idea. I personally prefer not to pay for parking and seldom do. However, I do like the idea of reserved parking and I am not against a privately owned business trying to float an idea to cover costs. So far it looks like their idea is working, as I have been noticing those parking spots being filled at night.

maybe with the level of acceptance many drivers have about being charged for things, pilot & co should charge admission fees for tv, entering the fuel island, using the squeegee (with or without water or washing fluid), maybe even pay by the minute for time pumping and inspecting the truck

shucks, by the time the average driver leaves the truckstop, petro could make an extra $50, and if you dont like it, make your own truckstop

what bothers me most about all of this is that we are constantly being taxed and increased costs in EVERYTHING

yet, our wages dont increase, so every week we have to work with less

this fiat money system is draining us dry and yet, the working people, who call themselves "conservatives" are being hosed and are all gunho for it

    weird

I have no problem with them trying those ideas. The market will decide if those ideas will fly or not, though. Who would have thought that selling water in a little plastic bottle would make some people rich?

you must be the first person i have ever communicated with who thought selling tap water, after having destroyed our fresh water suipply, as a good thing

guess you cant wait till the air is so polluted, we all have to buy oxygen tanks

or our natural food so corrupted, we have to either eat processed food or pay more for "organic"........oops, we are already there

I didn't say it was a good idea, I did say who would have thought you could even do it, much less make millions of dollars with that idea. From those statements, you can make no conclusion on my stand on environmental policies, of which you are entirely incorrect. Being born and raised in the hard coal regions, of central Pennsylvania, I can assure you that "Clean Coal" is a myth.
