I wasn't exactly saying you told me I had to like the idea. You say you prefer not to pay but like the idea. Of course the idea is working. As long as people like you pay even when they prefer not to...well, what do you think is going to happen? Other people Post ideas about paying for ridiculous things and you say yes, let's pay. You and many like you are the very reason these things have success. It'll never end with the charges. Nothing will ever be enough. Quit trying to sell the idea that these truck stops need this to stay in business. I'll say it again. I like having these truck stops out here and I'm not going to quit doing business with them. I'm out here to much to go without giving them my business. We don't need to pay to park. Thanks a lot for supporting an idea that takes more money away from us and our families. You keep supporting these ideas and eventually all parking will be this way. You say you very seldom pay now. Keep supporting the idea and eventually you'll always pay. I wish you would just go in and donate your money to these truck stops so maybe the rest of us wouldn't have to pay for this bad idea. Thanks again Autocar for supporting something that has us paying more. ):

You got that right, and infractions will follow if it continues elsewhere outside the political forum. :biggrin_25513:

I support free enterprise. That means if a business owner has an idea upon which he/she can legitimately and legally capitalize, go for it. If that idea will fly, or not, depends on the market. Some ideas I will support, with my hard earned dollars, some I will not. No one is forcing you to spend your dollars on a idea that you don't support. You have a choice and so does the truckstop operator and that choice should not be taken away from either party.
Your ideology would mean that I can't charge for tarping, as some shippers don't want to pay extra, for that legitimate service. The shipper has a choice, as it stands, either pay me for my service, or find someone that will throw the service in, free. It's all about choices in business.

Judging from what I've read that you have posted over the last year, I seriously doubt you ever have to worry about that occurring.

Anyone been to that Petro 2 east of Montgomery, AL on 85? That lot was tiny to begin with and they now have like 10 spots dedicated to reserved parking. I could see 3 at the most given the lot size.

This idea is spreading. They have built a lot next to our Truck Stop for paid parking. And it includes shore power to plug in your truck.

I don't get that way often, but the other day there were three trucks parked there and plugged in. And one trailer taking up one space with the shore power. :biggrin_2556:

I would pay to park if shore power was offered AND it was a "Quiet Zone".

Well, this one is not far from the tracks, so no "quiet zone" there. LOL But the shore power thing is a nice idea. I just don't know how much it will be used here. I guess time will tell.
