I buy stuff and park free at Jessup, MD too....but you really buy a gallon of oil everytime you park? Sounds like you have some mechanical issues, 365 gallons of oil a year.....

lots of places to park in and around seattle with food and restroom's, the TA in North bend is a sad truck stop along with the loves in Tacoma...

The market will eventually dictate the fate of "Reserved Parking".

I myself will never pay for a reservation.

Well, if you're getting into the Truck Stop by 17:00 you won't need the Reserved spots. Loads often require running hours that don't allow for being able to shut down by 17:00. Doesn't have much to do with splitting your breaks. Don't confuse this idea with the pay to park policies at those other locations you mentioned. They aren't set up the same. Try one out and you'll see what I'm saying. It's pay for the parking spot. Not get a pass for buying stuff. Anyways, it's cool if you like the idea. Just wanted to comment on a couple things from your post. :)

Its a load of B.S. saying they are doing it to help drivers. Its only at the stops that are going to be filled by 6pm. I remember when my dad was doing bed bugging the 76 in Ontario used to be $20 a week for moving van drivers to park all week if needed, and that was about the only stop that had any kind of payed parking. I refuse to stop at a T/S of any chain that is paid parking.

That is the beauty of the free enterprise system, you can stop anywhere you want to.

Parking shouldnt be free ANYWHERE!! Look at Pilot, 7 fuel lanes with 20 parking spaces!! Why would they do that?? Because the same amount of traffic will stop to buy fuel and odds and ends and keep going. There is NO EXTRA money to be made by having a 150 space parking lot. Asphalt and concrete aint cheap and neither is land!! Maybe just MAYBE, if ALL parking had to be paid for, truckstops would invest in more parking!!
I know some people will flame me and say "I just bought fuel so I SHOULD be allowed to park for free!!" Well fuel is a cost of business, they provided you with a place to buy fuel!! If you wanna park pony up the $$$!!
