Man outside of the military and working in a prision I have never met a group of guys willing to help somebody out as much as flatbedders....I am kinda of lost and slow (training was a joke compared to this)... Had a guy take about an hour today and show me how to use the lumbar tarp ... I mean really I cant wait to pay it foward and THANK YOU to Sam for helping me out big time...and everybody else teaching me tips and methods to make my transition easy you guys are great

With that attitude, you will do just fine. Good luck.
Clasix1055 and SHC Thank this. -
I have always found that no matter where you are in this country that a flatbedder is always around to help out with whatever ya need if you are a flatbedder.
SHC and Clasix1055 Thank this. -
I agree Triple M. I have found that this side of the industry is far better than any other I have ever delt with. I love flatbedding and wish i would have done this YEARS ago !!!

Spoke with two flatbedders tonight. Helped one tarp his load, then talked with him for a few hours. Love hearing the stories from other flatbedders.

The dispatch said the place was "Alkote"... So I went on in.... Turns out it was "Allied Tubing". If I wouldve known that, I wouldve took my sweet time. Got there at 1425, left this morning... Got loaded at 2000, at the end of my appointment window. Thankfully dont have to be in Arkansas til Monday. Guy told me some awesome stories. I love talking to other drivers. Get a lot of good tips that way too.

Unless you are a real POS and watch me try to fold a tarp in 35mph winds while you sit in your truck at Cat in Morton Il.
After getting it done with various chains, binders, etc holding the corners down, the guy actually asked me if I would give him a hand pulling his curtain sides!
Needless to say, my response to him would just appear here as a load of hashes, so no need to repeat it. He did claim he was "busy" when I looked at his with astonishment and told him what I thought of him though......
After 19yrs of doing open trailer work, I still learn a few old tricks from the old guys who I ALWAYS offer to help if I am behind them, or finished doing my load.
MartinShardrk Thanks this.
