I disagree. It will remain like it is for at least 3-4 years. What's driving the surge right now is shortfalls in new truck production. Companies that would be buying new are now entering the used market just to get any truck they can. Until new truck production again meets demand (removing new truck buyers from the used market) and then those used units refill the inventory in a few years (used truck availability returns to normal).

I just thought of something. We all better get with insurance and dramatically increase the value of equipment. Can you imagine having a loss and replacement costing 30 or 50k higher?

Excellent point. I did just that about 6 weeks ago, and it still wasn't high enough. Even though I've been paid for mine, it's still in my possession, and I now have it covered for the sale price should anything happen between now and then.

Interesting, I’m in Iowa and those are the same stores we have here and the only shortage we’ve seen is Oreo’s awhile back because of some plant strike.

My agent called me last week wanting to know if I wanted to increase the insured value of anything. Apparently they’ve had a couple clients that had a loss and were very pissed off because they only received what it was insured for and not what it’s worth.

He also told me that on Taylor and Martin auctions 2-3 year old refers have been selling for $20-30k more than new ones.

Am in southern Iowa .. where the hoot owls chase the chickens.. our stores aren't very big to begin with... the only time we count is when there's a huge tornado or a big train derailment ..lol ..otherwise we don't exist...lol

    Not gonna burst anytime soon.

the fedgov is gonna keep printing money like crazy to buy as many votes as possible before the next election .

Two years from now today’s prices may seem like a great deal

    just like the houses.
A couple more years of 30% inflation and today’s prices will seem like a bargain.

and don’t believe the BS that the fedgov is trying to say that the inflation rate is 5.5%
That is a total outfight lie . As usual , if a govt person says is , it’s a lie .

they don’t include food or fuel in the inflation rate .

you know , the two things that we have to have everyday ?
    They don’t include those .
Homes and cars and food are up 35%
    Lumber was up 400%

but the inflation rate was 5.5% ?
