Thats not how its done anymore,now they finance the driver a used truck for twice the price and the dream of being an o/o and big fat checks.
The driver is still on 1099 just more responsibilty.

 

They will have to hire 10,000 IRS agents to try to track all of the 1099 schemes going on in the US.

 

According to talk radio they hired, or are in the process of hiring, 87,000 new IRS agents.

 

So you’re telling us that you enjoy when government and the IRS micromanages and babysits every step that you make?

All this is going to do is screw with the legitimate carriers who use 1099 and those cheap POS owners will just move on to something else.

What most don't get is many times the crap that many drivers get screwed over is the fault of the driver to work for a cheap owner.

Quite the opposite, I definitely have a libertarian streak in me - and history has taught us Texans to be inherently distrustful of government.

Loop around the law is that you pay $100 workers comp insurance every month, pay for your own uniform and you’re a contractor again. Now every Hindu from Chicago with cardboard on side of his truck with bogus MC number is operating again while his cousin from India triple brokers loads from DAT to steal $50 a load.
Only way to control this nonsense is to tie SS number to the corporation. However it won’t get done because it won’t benefit folks like Trump and his buddy Hunter, Pfizer, Moderna, Fauci etc
