Men the truck is just setting here race season is over so I have some other irons in the fire to tend to
I'm thanking I'll try the 6nz harness and ECM off of a wreck truck I got here
Thx for everyone's help -
only fix is to take cam out an put stock back in some trucks just don't like this cam no matter what injectors you throw at it been there an done that i was told this is normal if kurt was on here he could explain it to yall
josh polk Thanks this. -
Little cat
What will the cam work in or is it just useless -
It was designed for a 800hp 3406E marine engine. I'm sure the boat engine has different injectors and cam timing let alone ecm programing.
It's a crap shoot in any other engine .
If you love spending $ chasing your tail trying to fix ghost problems getting your engine to run right , all the while pulling your hair out and banging your head against a brick wall, this cam is great!! -
I know ur right about that what gets me is when I first put it in there it went about 500 miles it was a hoss instant power to point were a idiot could just split the housing if he wonted to then it started the light studdering at 950 wasn't real bad just enough to drive me nuts so stared chasing that studdering after all the wiring harness sensors Ect thy said u got a bad ECM so I buy new ECM have flashed total of 5k put it on setting iddle truck smooth as silk all the way to 2200 rpm
I'm thanking sweet baby Jesus I got this put it under trailer head out ease up till get in high side soon as she hits 1500rpm it was like u cut the key off and back on before u can pull ur foot off gas peddle thought it was going to tear the drive shaft out
Put the old ECM back on truck runs great but has that miss not all the jerking tho why dose one ECM different from other ?new ECM has the parameters from original ECM in it
Put a stock ECM on it truck runs fine ? No studdering nothing -
I have the 1,000 hp plus marine cam on my 1LW, I do have the flutter, I thought it was fixed but no it still there, this is with a set of reman flow match #57 injectors, but to be honest the flutter was there way before this cam and it was worse this one actually made it a lot smoother and stronger than ever.
the flutter was there with the original cam and injectors that were pretty bad too, my flutter comes up at very high rpm when I'm way past any operational speed, but if I back my foot off for a split second it keeps going forward faster with out it, so in my case I don't think is a cam problem.
I was told that if you use bigger injectors then it will be almost impossible not to get the flutter with those bigger cams .
Now I have another question, my new injectors are numbered from 1 to 6 but the guy that installed them set them backwards, number 6 in hole 1 and the 5, 4, 3, and 2.
will that make any difference, if not why even bother on number them? -
I remember a few years ago on here when everyone was recommending these marine cams now everyone has issues and they are out of favor.
Diesel Dave Thanks this. -
T800h
I don't thank that will matter what hole there in long as whoever tears it down next time puts them back the same way thy are my ? Would b if he put the injectors in like that did he set the valve adjustment using the # 6 as the #1 ??
Sound like to me the miss u got is just normal cat u can push tomuch fuel in there u Gota have air to burn the fuel turbo mite b a little small that's just my thoughts
