PDP is an owner operator company where you self dispatch from the spot market.
They have trucks and trailers that you can lease or you can bring your own equipment. I came there with my own truck from a previous company where I averaged 180,000 per year.
When I left that company as an owner operator I had approx $9,500.00 in the bank and another 2,000 cash in my truck with a good credit score. Joined with this company not knowing what to expect, started out in the negative immediately owing them money.
I was shocked to see a negative balance on their dashboard. Making money to pay their collection of bills every Friday.
Needless to say I never came out of the hole and it was a domino effect of financial loss from there. I will be 60 years old this month and it feels like starting all over again.
They stopped paying me any money at all for months. I was working, and working, and working, the more I worked the more they would keep. They said I owed them money and it must be paid off before i could get paid.
They offered a $250.00 cash advance but you must pay it back on your next trip along with your other cost. Then we get $12.50 advance fee and 2.50 process fee.
I was working 7 days a week with no vacation time trying to overcome their financial oppression. I use to take vacations all the time.
In my experience PDP is a safisticated billing scam, under the guise of helping the business owner be successful, grow their business, and have freedom. They give you a lot of happy talk as a motivation to keep you running. They count on "BTO's" being ignorant unsuspecting fools who run hard to make the money to feed their investment ventures.
Be careful joining with this company they have a lot ways to take your money and you will start PDP in the negative on there dashboard. Then you work your ### off to keep chasing those bills and fees that they will throw @ you.
They pay you tyically withing 24rs of finishing your load if its submitted by the noon cut off. Cost will be deducted from each load and additional monies will be deducted every Friday.
If you have a breakdown far away from home be sure you got money in the bank to take care of yourself. Dont depend on PDP to help you if you get stranded. They are very shady when it comes to helping you out on the road.
No one can help you after 10pm if you get in trouble they tell you as a business owner its on you.
This company is not about you. They are about taking your money period. Then making you feel like they are looking out for you.
They refer to you as a "BTO" (We don't have drivers we have business owners) but you feel like an AI or bot feeding their financial investments and bank accounts.
Just before I terminated my contract with PDP they shut off my ability to book any loads. As a power only truck, I had to deadhead from Florida to Atlanta to drop the load out trailer. Then deadhead back to Florida again without a load. Their way of punishing me because of not getting a PM done on "my own truck" in a timely manner.
Comments are opinions based on my experience with this company. Be clear eyed going into this 1099 scam. I do not recommend them nor have I personally met a single driver who recommends them. This business is not run according to american standards. Run like hell and dont look back.

How long were you there? I cannot believe people who continue the practice of allowing someone to steal, harass or intimidate them. Life is much too short to go through it, acting a like a little puppy. Again, how long did you put up with all this?? Even as a company employee, I might understand a man putting up with this crap a little, but when it comes to money, "heads will roll" one way or the other. As an Owner Operator, it shouldn't take one sniff "rotten" for a man to pack his stuff and wave bye bye. One note, be very careful what you sign.

I have been with them since March 2024 hoping to work my way out of this but never recovered. Im filing a law suite cant let it go.

Why would a company help you fix your own truck?
Why would you keep working with nothing being paid to you?
How do you end up owing them money when you're the one who owns the truck?Albertaflatbed, Long FLD, snowlauncher and 4 others Thank this. -

Normally when a company bring you on they have accounts with the major shops Loves, TA, etc.. towing etc and they just take out of your settlement or pay. Everyone im familiar with does it.
They charge you weekly when i started they started charging me immediately. Anything from administrative fees 3,000 fuel down payment which is like an escrow account thry force on you. Trailer down-payment which ended up being a bad reefer that he sold me. He overcharged me by at least 10,000 the brain of the reefer died 3 months later. They billed me 100% plus the claim cost.Last edited: Oct 6, 2024

You agreed to those fees so it's not fair to blame the carrier. You're supposed to be running a business yourself. Maybe try to see your business moves through that lense to make your future more positive.
