I don't think any misdemeanor's are going to affect you.

It will depend on whether the company ask if you have ever been charged, or whether you have ever been convicted.
Big difference.
Pending charges, would require a court date that has been set. You've obviously handled this situation through other channels, and have staved off the charge for the time being. With a complete dismissal if you remain a good boy for the next year.
Many charges, such as you've described are handled locally. With little, if any record of it ever appearing on your record nationally.
Unless they specifically ask "Have you ever been charged". It would be an honest reply if you answered no to the question of "Have you ever been convicted?" Provided you haven't been convicted of the charge. -
your real name isn't "Dick Cheney"......is it..........??
sorry..........the devil made me do it...........Blackshack46, Waterboy334 and SingingWolf Thank this. -
I think I'd be real careful on that on. It's not like something like this is going to keek you out of driving but lying on a application will. I believe I would explain to them just what has happened. Then if they let you go then they probably would have done it down the road for something petty anyway.

I have a misdemeanor tresspass. its class (C). Central took me on with it but it is almost 20 years old. Be honest about it and tell the recruiter and ask if its ok. Chances are the recruiter wont let you go if its not. The important thing is to be honest about it because they WILL find it and then its game over for lying. If you dont lie about it then you will probably be ok.

Rural states hardly ever charge someone for this, they warn them, or as in your case, they educate them. Some places do go with enforcement, though.
There is some good advice here, consider it all and follow what is right for your situationLast edited: Sep 11, 2010

All trucking company apps say right on it that you can't have any pending court cases, which means clean up your file BEFORE you apply.

I don't recall a section that asks about pending charges, only convictions.
SingingWolf Thanks this.
