Ya some of those rules are so crazy. I've asked some groups what they believe and they don't know themselves wha and why they do it. But ya the Holdeman Mennonites have cellphones and internet but they have quite restrictive filters on them
-
that made this possible.OldeSkool, tucker, Lepton1 and 1 other person Thank this. -
There is a small Amish community in Union Grove, North Carolina
I have seen Mennonites in Washington Square Park in the Village in NYC..... they get around!!Lepton1 Thanks this. -
My family was Mennonite into the 1800's before one of my forebears married a native american girl at a catholic mission.
Driving thru the dutch country you can tell the difference as you drive thru. Lady with drab colors mowing the lawn with a manual push mower and all drab clothing on the kids at play and hanging on the clothes line is
Amish while the lady a the other end of town has a bright color dress, pushing a gas powered mower and has no clothes line is the Mennonite lady...
Like the Amish they have a variety of 'orders' with different beliefs, worked with a lady who had a car but was one of the 'black bumper' Mennonites; all the chrome on her car was painted over with black paint before delivery....others have buggies just like the Amish.Swiss Mountain Dog, Lepton1 and tscottme Thank this.
