Ok so I haven't driven a truck since 2009. I have an interview with Pepsi as a relief driver which will eventually land me my own route I would imagine.
I've read reviews about the company on glassdoor.com and another website and for the most part the reviews are positive (fast paced, busy work, great pay etc.)
These reviews are all pretty recent but the only thread I found on here about Pepsi was from 2007 and it was all negative.
The pay starts at 41000 per year which is pretty #### decent compared to what I make now selling auto parts. I have a 10 month old baby and another one on the way and my current salary just will not cut it. I can't make ends meet with just the one kid.
Is there anybody here that has driven for Pepsi and can say something good about it? I need something with structure, stability and a salary that can support my family. Do you get paid by the amount of cases you deliver or is it a solid pay that a person can count on? Hard work is no problem for me as I drove for Werner's Dollar General account and that was some slave work right there but I still enjoyed what I did.
I've been pretty stoked about this interview and I really hope the job meets my expectations if they hire me. Any input would be appreciated but please only if you have experience with the company. Thank you.

There were days when I ran relief where I was off by 3pm (starting at 5am). Other days I ran until 10pm.
It's tough work and the pay is good, but man you'll find yourself loathing some customers and they way they treat delivery drivers.

thanks for the info guys. I've been reading reviews and what not and as with any job, there are mixed reviews. And now, Sygma has contacted me as well. I sat down with the guy who operates the local docimile (I think that's what it's called) here in st Louis and they're wanting to give me a overnight local route with other drivers and helpers. It's a small operation with a handful of trucks that are all daycabs and just one with a sleeper so there's no runs that would have me out for days. The only downfall is that they are all night runs so I will be sleeping during the day but I'll at least I'll be home with my wife and kid. Sounds as tho they are ready to hire me on and the payscale looks pretty #### good.
One thing I liked is that this man is not a recruiter so he's not getting paid to sugar coat the company. He's been with the company 5 years and made 68000 his first year. Now I didn't look at his w2's or anything to see if he's feeding me a story but I know that the minimum pay during training is 850 a week. So whether it pays in the 40's or 60's it sure beats the 27000 or so that I make selling auto parts and I have another kid on the way. I don't have much of choice. If I get the call from HR this week wanting to get me up to KC for the orientation I'm doing it.Last edited: Feb 17, 2015
