as the title states, Im currently working for pepsi, Im in their driver training to get my class A, I have had my class B for 2 years, the more i work, the more tired i am and they dont seem to understand that i dont have the energy that they do. their trying to stack 7 cases of two liters on me, and im only on my second week. Needless to say, Its kicking my butt, Im making 16.42 a hour, but after i get my class a, I drop to pure commision which is 21 cents for every case i take off the truck, It doesnt seem like the money adds up for the ball busting work, Ive been interested in driving a tri axle but i cant seem to find anything around my area whose willing to give me a chance, So im gonna go for my class A, I havent read alot of bad about smith and i really like their equipment, it seems like most of it is dedicated and i would be home, Im single and i still live with my parents, So even if not, Its not a big deal. But im not sure if i should give up a local postion for a dedicated, i absolutley love driving and if i could do it all day at pepsi, it would be awsome, But it doesnt work like that.
Any advice is helpful,
Im located in Pittsburgh pa.

I worked for a reefer company one time & it was close to Pepsi/Coke/Beer distributors. The reefer company hired a lot of their drivers and they ALL/100% had bad backs. They all said, they would get a route built up & paying well, then the company would split the route up and give part of it to some brown noser. Keep looking and researching. With no OTR experience or CDL school, consider 6 mos with a company that will train you and give the experience needed. Central Refrigerated or Panther Expedite or others some drivers on this forum can recommend. Talk to some cement companies and ask which tanker companies deliver their dry bulk cement powder & flyash to them; that's local stuff and pays pretty good. Sometimes they will hire CDL drivers without OTR experience. Grocery companies will hire you with no OTR experiece. Check Careerbuilder.
I'm not familiar with Smith, you mentioned, but if it looks good, put in the application. -
is only been two weeks. it'll take time to get use to the work. i worked for coke for 11 years and when i frst started it was hard work. i wasn't high enough seniority to deliver to the big stores, so i did the small stores except when i worked saturdays. just take your time and don,t get hurt. as far as the 2 liters,i always stacked 8 cs on the hand truck. other driverd were doing 10. unfortunately i made a mistake and got terminated. but love it while it lasted

You were born in '91 right?
Pull ya skirt down, kid. -
Walk across the street to Central and apply once you get your "A". They are always looking for drivers, lol.
If can't handle the work and want to quit after only two weeks, quit now and go get your tanker endorsement and apply at the many companies running water trucks to the well sites around here. All you need is a "B" and tanker. -
dont tell me to pull my skirt down, ive busted my ### all my life and have nothing to show for it, I worked on a farm for years but then i was hurt and it made that kinda job rough on me. and i looked up central, everyone wants experience. and pepsi told me it would 30-45 days before ill be able to test, im not sure what i want, Ive wanted to drive a tri axle all my life and i cant seem to find anything to spring.

Most companies won't take you with out going to a school. The ones that will want 1 year of local driving to be considered or 6 months otr. If your always tired from that job are you gonna have the stamina to run 11 hours at a time odd hours of the day? Might want to look for another line of work.

Driving doesnt bother me, I have a previous knee injury that i made them aware of during the interview. Driving is what i love to do. Nothing else.
