I have sent you the info to determine RPM with variations of final tranny gear ratio, and different tire sizes. I would stay with the LP for that axle gear. I would also look into converting that 9 to a 13 to allow shorter RPM drops between higher gears. The 13 will offer better milage by keeping the motor in the "sweet spot" more easily as long as you use them right.

Need to determine exactly which model tranny you have so that you will know what your bottom gears are before changing the axle gears or tire size. Depending on the model, you may have plenty of bottom gearing to allow good off-road drivability and still give good fuel milage on the road with the 3.36's. Eaton 9 speed tranny's offer bottom gearing starting as low as 17.21 to the taller 10.55 which may really be the determining factor in axle gearing for your application.

    1989 Pete Thanks this.
