Apart from the Shamrock gig coming back into the fold, I also put in app with the ODFL in Albuquerque. I'm heading up to Commerce City CO next week to get that done and if all goes well, I guess we'll hit that one and see where it goes. Then of course there's also the matter of getting picked by the ABQ terminal as well.

IRT has been great, but when the loaders start dropping their loads at the dropyard and giving my former company work and the long-haul guys start swiping cheeseplant loads, the stress becomes unbearable.

I see that you are in eastern New Mexico. Check into drive away options for the oil industry.

Many major oil companies are having a difficult time hiring enough drivers right now. They have trucks to move, but nobody to drive them. They contract with other companies to provide drivers to move their trucks. The company I am leased to has hired over a dozen drivers in the OKC terminal just to do drive away, yet we still have to get owner operators to cover the need.

I don't know if your particular area would work out for something like this, but I do know that I have done drive aways and delivered in my own truck in Hobbs. Doing drive away it helps if you have Hazmat and tanker endorsements. You will drive a wide variety of trucks: five axle cranes, flatbeds, overweight pump trucks, oversized sand castles, and pneumatic bulk. Be prepared to drive on dirt.
