Figured I'd ask here before I start my investigating mission today.
Our Ontario SPIF spec tri-axle dump trucks, 265 inch wheelbase, 59 inch tandem spread and 101 inch spacing to the steering lift axle.......can I legally drive through Quebec empty and can this configuration be run in Nova Scotia?
I realize my allowable gross will be different in NS......just wonder if my configuration is permissible at all?
Thanks.
Permissable Axle Spacing's ON/QC/NS

Wow you stumped the whole TTR family!!
-
Haha, well probably not something many have to deal with, LOL.
From what I found out I can, just need permits for the other provinces or get PRP plates.
But the trucks will have to operate at 26,000KG gross. My self steering lifts are not allowed there.taxihacker66 Thanks this. -
Going through Quebec empty shouldn't by a problem at all. If they wont recognize the lift at all in NS tham you might as well remove the tires and lock it up to save some weight.
-
Oh? I thought I needed a permit to drive through Quebec?
Good point though special-k. What we do is all hourly any way, so the lighter the load the better, LOL. -
Even empty I think your right on the permit.
-
Not all dump trucks in Quebec are tandem tandem. Some are speced like Ontario
-
If you don't have a prp plate and ifta stickers you will need a permit. Easy to get in Quebec online and emailed to you the same day. Much easier than getting permits in Ontario.

Thanks for the info gentlemen. Likely not even going to go, but we can as it is part of a contracted job we do.
Would have been a nice summer vacation though. We'll see what happens.Macneil Thanks this.
