You need General,Air brakes, double and triples, combination, tanker, and Hazmat. Do them all then never worry about being licensed for a load or job again.

What is required for your permit is general knowledge, combination vehicles and air brakes. I took those first, got the permit, finished school then immediately went back to DMV and tested for Hazmat, tankers and doubles triples. Less pressure this way and spread it out a little.

Doing the practice tests on this site and others is much better than studying out of the book. The questions on the practice test and the multiple choice answers they give you are almost identical to the real test.

Just remember those extra endorsements cost money and may come out of your pocket! I forget which ones Swift pays for, then you pay Swift back and which ones you pay for up front.

Haz-Mat comes to mind. Swift does not require it and in almost 3 years I have pulled I think about 3 that had to be placarded. Keep in mind, there are times that you are sitting, and that Haz-Mat endorsement might just get you rolling while every one else sits. Also we do some Fed-Ex and many times that load info says Haz-Mat, when actually when you pick it up there will not be any on that run. They are just covering them self just in case. I have done many FedEx and never one with placards, but every dispatch said Haz
