    Am I getting the correct information. Is it best to get your learners permit for CDL before attending school???? Did not even think about what was needed in this area nor was I informed on what would be the best steps to make in order for all things to run as quickly and sufficient as possible.

    Depends on whether or not you are going to school in your home state. If so, I say go for it! If not, you are most likely going to have to transfer your license to the schools state, then gain your permit. And after school, you will then have to transfer your newly earned CDL to your home state. Just remember that you can only hold One (1) driver's license at a time.

    The school I am thinking of attending is in Arkansas and I am in Alabama. Talked to one person attending same school but in tn and he said they drive you to al to test you. Oh boy this brings up so much more bull **** to deal with. This guy was saying they made him drive back to al. To get his learners the first Friday of school. Have not decided yet if this is the school I will attend. Also how would you get all these permits if you don't have an address in your schools state for the application??

    Call the school. If they are willing to drive you back to AL for your road test, then you won't need to transfer your license to AR. If this is the case, getting your permits in AL would be to your benefit, I think. Be one less step to deal with while your in school, and you can be more focused on the schooling.
