So the company I work for ever since I applied through their website has used advertising retargeting and tracking to monitor my search history and internet browsing. What do you guys think of this? It is my personal phone but they use device fingerprinting and cookies which fingerprinting you can’t get away from like blocking or clearing cookies. I feel like it’s a massive invasion of privacy and shouldn’t happen since they force me to use my personal phone that I pay for and I’m not a consumer but an employee. The reason I could care less if XYZ online store tracks me is because they don’t attach it to my name like my employer has done to follow me everywhere.

Do your companies do this too? It kind of sucks I can’t use my phone or have to pay for a bunch of anti tracking apps. No other company I have ever worked for before being a truck driver has done this. Is this normal in trucking? It’s kind of creepy and I don’t like it.

Get a second phone and don't let the company know. Put the phone in a fake name or someone else name.

There are thousands of trucking companies in the USA. Drive for one that trusts and respects you!

I thought of this but that’s a little much. Forced to have two phones because my company stalks their employees on their personal devices? What an awful thing. I’m going to get out ASAP it’s just my first trucking job and I’m doing everything I can to last a year.

Yea.....#### that company. No seriously #### them up the ### with a splintered telephone pole. If i found out they were doing it without my consent id be fileing multiple invasion of privacy lawsuits. If it was required via the contract id drop my drawers turn around and take a dump on it then walk out middle finger raised high.

Infact why are you still there tolerateing such blatent bullcrap?

I don’t want to ruin my trucking career by job hopping so soon as it has only been 7 months. You weren’t able to not consent to tracking for the application I just didn’t expect them to attach it to my name like they did. Every website tracks they just typically don’t attach their advertising retargeting to a name or personally identifiable information.

To me having two phones wouldn't be too much. I've know drivers that had 2 or 3 phones, but the company only knew about one.
Put up with it or change jobs. Plenty of companies will hire you with less than 12 months experience.
Where is your location? We can probably show you several decent companies that will hire you right now.

Phones break, and need replacing. NEVER give a company permission to spy on you.
