i never had a company do this..i just do not give out my cell phone number. if the company wanted to track me, they can do so by Qualcomm, or other GPS tracking device.

on our cell phones, we can shut off GPS tracking. i'd imagine many Smart phones can do this as well

if the company wanted to call me, then they can provide me with a cell phone themselves, and have at it.

personally..?? i'd surf "Adult websites" of all kinds, and genre, and make thier eyeballs pop out.

get a burner phone...otherwise any job that want's your number? tell them to shove off, gimme YOUR phone instead.

then, forget to keep it charged up....

If they were tracking you in real time with your phone you could have a lot of fun with them. Leave it in the glove box of your wife's car one day while she drives around town running errands. Find out were the boss lives and drive to his house and park in front for a few hrs while his wife is home to make it look like you are seeing her on the side. Put it in a fed ex box and send it to a relative that lives across the country opposite of were you are running your lane and have them send it to someone else and so on. Cool stuff like that.

Google has a "cloaking" feature in which your ID is hidden..there should be other such software you should look into.

otherwise? go to the library and apply using thier devices.

Use a family plan in you "16 year old daughters" name.
Forward your phone to it and only turn your phone on to call company or on company business
Then you can really raise he77 if they track it....
"Why the he77 are you tracking my daughter?"
    "Are you a danm pedo?"

Yes, out these a-holes. People need to know, and I dare some schmo from this outfit to show up here and deny it so they can get the skewering they deserve.

You have to understand that it’s not a company on the other side of the spying its people. People just like you and anyone else. They have their own points of view, their own interest, their own political affiliation, their own beliefs, their own religions, and everything else. And if they get a bug up there, you know what because you are looking at were researching or doing whatever it is, you do online that they don’t agree with? They’ll come up with some reason or excuse to get rid of you. If I found out a company I was working for was spying on me like that, I would take it personally. And I would act accordingly. That is disgusting.

OK here is the thing, legally they have to have a way to opt out, if they don't then it is time to get a lawyer involved.

One reason why I have a paper application is that I can not secure the servers well enough to prevent hacking. Many of these sites have minimal safeguards for personal data.

That said, the cookie/DF issue is a touchy one, and I recommend opting out of them, and then wiping your phone completely. If they require you to have a phone, then get a cheap flip or bar phone, and use that for calls and text.
