I posted this elsewhere but really no answers yet. I usually just lurk on this forum so thought I'd try here also. Any info appreciated.
I'm a Canadian o/o leased to a carrier. I dropped in SC last night and had a load to pick up this am. Overnight my mom in law passed. My company has no loads going direct home or anywhere near, continuing with my load wouldn't get me home until Thursday. So I'm bobtailing direct.
How far can I go with US person conveyance rule? Do I have to take 10 hrs at night? Can I run my 11 then a couple more pc and call it a day? I'd like to be home sunday night or Monday am.
Thanks.

Sounds like you can run legally on log and have enough time to make it.I would like to say run home don’t worry about it scales are probably closed and if they bother you explain your Mom died .You should be able to run off duty or PC whatever you want to call it but I personally have been harassed and shut down in Pa twice in 14 yrs for this issue. They don’t care about the rules. Ignorant locals with DOT authority.what about renting a car? Maybe leave truck at rental store check Enterprise for this. That’s all I Got Be safe and my condolenses
Elroythekid Thanks this. -
Man, I'm sorry to hear it. I would take the DOT out of your life by parking the truck and flying home post haste. You'll probably save money in the long run.

I'm in Maine now. I'll be home tomorrow early afternoon. Rental car was too much with the x border and flying last minute on the long weekend was unbelievable. And then where to leave my truck and then fly back.
Thank you all for all the reply tho, in Canada pc is relegated to 75kms per day. The twist is Qualcomm can track the kms but not COUNT the kms.... so...we get 1 hour. And down here the same... 1 hr.
If not for elog I'd be home tonight.gokiddogo Thanks this.
