I have never had an issue with lugging in reverse. They must have some wrong RARS. The only difference in a 12-14 speed is the deep reduction for the lower gears. That is for starting out. If geared 2.64, 2.79 they have no issues whatsoever. You may be seeing people with 3 plus having issues.

I’ve never experienced what you describe in any automatic. When letting off the brake, in a Volvo or PACCAR, the clutch actuator starts releasing. Just like driving a manual, there’s a threshold point one needs to be aware of. Instead of feathering the clutch, one needs to feather the brake pedal. On/off with the brake pedal results in on/off of the clutch. Driven right, they don’t lunge. Simple.

Exactly. With anything, the operator makes all the difference.

You know fire engines have been automatics for over 20 yrs. So I guess firefighters aren’t real men either?

I let my foot off the pedal. The truck rolls back before it decides to kick in and move forward.

I'm waiting to hit a car because they stopped to close to me.

On uphill starts, use both feet on both pedals. What exactly is the problem?

Ha mine has an auto brake on hills called hill assist. Can take foot off brake and sit for a little bit so no issue ever. Just take foot off brake and put foot on fuel and away I go!

If you can’t secure a flatbed you're basically just a big 4 wheeler
