I drive an auto co. Truck. I have no restriction though. What I don't like is descending steep hills with an auto. It seems like it can get out of hand easier than standard. I remember with manual, you'd get your gear and set the Jake, and it would be pegged. With auto even with max eng brake it can get away from you.
Personal opinion if you can't ride I mean drive stick your not a real trucker

I suspect clutches are cheaper than automatic transmissions. Because that's where the trouble is.

It don't work like you say it should. -
Mine works so good the brake pedal is hardly needed. It'll lock up the tires if slow and empty.

accident free truckers that are on time and professional to customers/dispatchers are the real truckers.

I got it, and empty is alot easier, I'm just saying that manual tran works better on down hill.better feeling of control.
