I have a big girl mastiff weighing 158 pounds. I lost my home after a long illness and death of wife and have been living on my truck. I need to go to another company since I am not getting freight and making not anywhere near a living. Are there any companies that do not limit size of dog? Does anyone know Dart's policy?

I'm real sorry to hear about your troubles. The last thing you need is to lose your dog.
There are plenty of drivers out here with big dogs. I've even seen Great Danes.
There are some things the people here will need to know to be equipped to help you.
1--what state is your home base?
    2--do you own your truck?
3--what kind of freight do you haul?

Most everyone on here is nice and chock-full of good information, so you need to hang with us as much as you can for moral support and human connection, okay?

The 1/2 a dozen guys on here that will have the specific answers you need are probably sleeping, but they are always available...some may surprise me and pop in before I get this typed. LOL

Try and be patient. You'll get some specific answers soon IF you post the answers to the questions I asked, ok?

I've taken this data from other posts; it may just be a starting point but you can at least google the companies to see what you find out until other posters come on.

1--drive logistics. no weight limit, no deposit. no per mile charge, all they ask is that you let them know about it before you bring'em on the truck.

2--Halvor Lines, Superior, WI. No deposit, no CPM.

3--Grand Island Express - 35lb weight limit $1000 $500 down, rest is escrowed (I do not know if any of this is refundable)

    4--Ozark Motor Lines - 50lb weight limit $200

5--crete doesnt anymore apparently, however shaffer does

    6--Usx requires cats be declawed

    7--H. O. Wolding
    up to 35 lbs $500
    35 - 80 lbs $1000
if truck is returned clean, full deposit refunded; if truck is dirty, amount refunded is prorated

8--Knight* is now advertising as pet friendly NEW:Pet Policy

9--May Trucking, they require a 150.00 cleaning deposit ( non refundable ) and 500.00 deposit for doggie damage (refundable) taken out in installments of 50.00 a week.

10--Boyd is pet friendly as long as they know about the animal before they see it

11--Kennesaw Transportation out of Atlanta Ga is very pet friendly

And here's a long list I found in someone elses post:
Us Xpress: 1 of any size, $500 non-refundable, pay roll deduction is avalible.
Covenant: 1 pet 100lb limit, $500 non-refundable, payroll deduction available, also there is a $250 fee per year that the pet is in the truck.
Big G Express: 1 any size, $250 due before pet is allowed in the truck, non-refundable, no deduction.
Boyle Transportation: 1 Under 20 lbs, must be well trained.
    Hill Brothers Transportation: 1 under 60 lbs, $150 non-refundable,
    payroll deduction available.
Beacon Transport: 2 pets, no size!!!! forgot the deposit but they do have payroll deduction.
    Interstate Dist. Co.: under 40lbs
    Melton Truck Lines: under 50lbs
Con-way: web site says "small" but I called about my 85lb dog and they said he would be ok as long as non aggressive. $300 non-refundable, and a penny per mile you can get back at the end of each month as long as you maintain your truck.
FFE: 50lbs, no deposit but you will pay a penny a mile that you wont get back. If you go lease with them it is a $500 deposit.
Watkins Motorlines: 30lbs, $400 non-refundable, payroll dedution avalible.
    Wel: 800-387-0088: 40lbs, $750 deposit, #350 non-refundable.
Empire Express: 25lbs, $500 deposit $100 non-refundable, payroll deduction avalible.
Warner: no size limit, $250 before pet allowed in truck then $5 per week.
Also Ozark and Navajo allow pets but I don't know any of the info with it.

US Xpress is pet friendly. If you get on a dedicated account..... it will keep you busy. Many of them are drop & hook.

Mastiff, provide us with more info.

    1. Where do you live ?

    2. Are you looking to lease purchase ?

I see swift l/o at terminals with some big dogs nothins ever said to them...but you mentioned pay..so..youll have to be the judge on that

Being turned away from shippers because you have a dog is probebly a bigger problem.

Also.....my condolences go out to you sir.....
