    sort of a rant:

Have experience with city driving standard (lower than 20K axle) steering radius. Usually a tight situation was "doable". A new co had me drive a Pete haul with 20k axle and an folding cable pull trailer. City town driving was hell. Quit the first day (have a clean MVR) because they had me going into places you cant make at "least a little" cleanly. Almost needed a follow car to allow me to go wide.

Question is: what the hell is a 20k steering axle doing on a standard 3 axle cable pull "old time" folding haul trailer.

Who knows, some time these are off the lot trucks sitting there with no takers and you get them cheap.

The axle rating has nothing to do with the turning radius. The wheelbase has everything to do with the turning radius.

Driving a long wheelbase in tight quarters frequently calls for multi point turns. Using a long wheelbase truck for a steady diet of tight city driving is stupid. Use the right tool for the job.
