Will a 377 and 379 cab swap? Or are they not the same. Been looking at trucks and looking in to building one know where a 377 cab is but want a square hood like the 79.

    The cab themselves should interchange.

I have a 377. Same cab, you can fit a standard 379 good but you have to have the front spring hanger-hood hinge, and move the axle forward @ 3 inches. If it's a SFA like mine.

The cabs are the same, but the hoods are not interchangeable. You can not put a 379 hood on a 377 chassis without quite a bit of work. You'll need a hood, hood hinges, front spring hangers, relocate rear hangers, relocate upper shock mounts, drag link, bumper and probably some other stuff I'm forgetting. It is possible, but not worth it IMO.

Can it be done? Yes. If you had the time and space and tools, or you have the money.

Do it. And put up pictures.

I'm still on the fence. When early 90's 379 with nothing special are going just under 30k and nice are in the 45 plus range I think I could build a truck cheaper... gotta talk with the guy who has the cab and sleeper
