And the video too big this is with the fan switch off. It cycles to the high side, pegs out and fan starts

This is basically a new ac system. All parts replaced due to a compressor that came apart and contaminated it. Is it possible my gauges are junk? Got them at napa $105 2 days ago. Fan seems to cycle with low side pressure. I thought the fan switch was run off the high side. It blows cold for sure

High side looks good. It’s possible about your gauges but you don’t need to spend good money on gauges. Go out to your car or your pickup truck and hook up the gauges. Depending on your ambient temp, low side will be between 25 and 35 psi. Put the gauges on anything but your truck just to see if that gauge is messed up on low side

Fan runs off high side switch. Your cut off is 300 psi on the high side. Soon as 300 psi hits, fan comes on to cool the condenser back down to the low 100 range. Low side psi doesn’t change when the compressor is engaged. Watch my video again on page 1.

Update to the fun. Used another vehicle for testing. When hi side is hooked up first it flows to low side some how. Hooking up low side first changes everything. So will try again in a few hours on the problem child

No shop with no machine ever sucked oil out of your A/C or anyone else's A/C, the oil residue that is left in a system after evacuation is removed by flushing the system.

The purpose of a vacuum pump is get the moisture to boil so it will become a gas and be sucked out of the system.

ANY PUMP that will create enough vacuum to peg the gauge needles is making enough vacuum to boil the moisture, an A/C machine is great for saving and filtering the old freon but it is no more effective at boiling water than any other vacuum source. In fact when I was starting out in A/C I used the vacuum line to the power brake booster on cars as a vacuum pump, I just let the car idle for 45 minutes to keep the gauges pegged.

A/C is not some mysterious science, you can find countless credible sources that will verify that the lubrication oil circulates with the freon and vacuum pumps don't remove oil or any other contaminates besides water.

    Hulld Thanks this.
