I don't think you can get 10mpg. I also agree your doing fine where your at now. I'm running a 550 Brakesaver tune with 58's and I'm 98% of the time @ 7 mpg, with full loads, and I have the DPF retrofit. If you still want a little more, I would look for someone who has a Cat ET with some flash files and maybe drop a 600 tune with some better fls/fts numbers. PP and PDI, will get cost you a pretty penny for a tune, when you can find someone else for less then have the cost they will charge you.

I got pulled over by a state police officer in Ohio, the 2nd day I bought the Peterbilt 379, he said I was making too much noise with the jake brake, but I told him there was no sign saying no jake brake allowed, and I wasn't in a residential area, actually was in the middle of the country, well didn't get a ticket nor a warning, just verbal advice. Seems like the truck makes a lot of noise without the jake brake on. :biggrin_2551:

I miss the sound of straights. I have 7" flattops 13'5" tall from the ground up. But since my DPF install, the sound of the straights have mellowed way down.

Oh wow, I hardly ever get a headache, maybe once or twice a year.

Guess I'll go for something smaller than the 8 inch exhaust pipes, just in case to stay away from the headaches. :biggrin_25512:

like Oscar said if your cac cant hold 30lbs for 6 seconds it is junk. it is near impossible to find a leak on the cac with a squirt bottle. you have to actually cap off the ends and pressurize to see if it holds air.

8's won't increase the noise, they will actually mellow out some but be deeper tone. I guess I won't ever out grow my pooch pipes

Smaller and shorter the stacks the louder they are. My 8s weren't that bad when they were long but I was 13'8" ground to the top of the stack now I'm 12' 5" and I get headaches by the end of the day.

Keep in mind I've got a longer stroke and a bigger bore so it may not be as bad on your 14.6 but I know with my 15.8 it's a loud sob. You can feel the vibrations in the cab when you gouge on it.

But I was one of them young kids who thought oh straight stacks will be great I'll be one of the cool kids...yea chock it up to being young and dumb.
