Just an update from me. My company bought two 2012 386 Petes last july and they are both coming up to 150,000 miles now without (touch wood)hardly any issues at all outside of routine servicing. They are 455hp models with disc brakes and my boss is impressed enough to have just ordered a 2013 model.
We are a small company with only seven company trucks if they do turn out to be unreliable it could be disasterous for us but like I say they are doing very well so far.

I sincerely hope they do go well for ye, wouldn't like to see anyone end up in the same boat as me!

I'm sure you'll like the disc brakes!

Ya know. with all the modern day pollutant systems in use on these engines,,,unless you strip it and run it like a 60's.

Talked to a Pete dealer last week who had a small fleet turn in about a dozen of their 2011 MX powered 386's due to issues. My local dealer is swearing the ecm updates are working. Sounds like maybe the '12's you guys have got most of the bugs worked out.

We have sold a lot of the trucks with Paccars in them. Never seen any back for major issues. They seem to be way better then cummins. That being said however, any work on a paccar is terrible to do as compared to a cummins or cat. There just seems to be way more garbage bolted to the Paccar. Mpg seems to be better on the Paccar as well. It will be interesting when they release the 500 hp + models.

Will there be a +500hp Paccar engine?
The most you can get now is the 510hp in Europe.

I think they have some test units running 560Hp.
Not sure where I heard it or how accurate that is.
Just by changing the air intake and exhaust system I believe you can get a 8% power improvement.
Obviously the emission stuff has to go to achieve this.
Also only hearsay , but the guy who told me has about 60 of these units and adapts them all.

No idea on the actual horsepower or the estimated time of arival of a 500+ model. All i know is that it should be within 2 years. There is companys over in europe that delete the emissions systems, havent heard of anyone over here trying it.

Not much point in deleting the emission system.
We don't use EGR yet on the MX's.
All you would achieve is save some DEF.
