LOL, very true. Usually why I try not to go to in depth on here. Eyes on the truck is very, very helpful in troubleshooting!

Sound dumb but my freightliner did that and it was a kink in the air line

Yeah, this another guy is something.. He tells me upfront that I will need to unload cars to get to that QR1 valve. My answer was - "unloading on the HWY shoulder will be a b..ch". He goes "why don't you drive it to the exit?? You can still drive it". I say No, you can't drive it period, I bet $100 you cant drive it. He goes "watch me". He jumps on the driver seat ( I let him do it, because I know he won't be able to move it ). This mfkr puts it on the low gear, and drives truck to the exit, about 600 feet. Brakes were smoking a bit, but he got me off the HWY. That was a big surprise for me. I guess I am still a newbie in this business.

I enjoyed the process of discovery that everything up until a final understanding of the real problem is futile and expensive.

Same old story from my time. Unless you had a mechanic old enough to know whatdamatta the minute you pull in.

So are you rolling yet and was the issue confirmed to be what the latest mechanic said it was?

He confirmed faulty QR1 valve by pinching some air hoses. Fixing it right now, brought new valve. Says it cost $690. Seems a bit overpriced to me.

Depends on what he replaced it with.....valve can cost anywhere from $10-$200.
Hope it works for you but to be honest I am still a little skeptical this will fix the issue.

How much did the first mechanic charge you for the abs module?

    Great news!

I have to admit I did not think this was the issue. Wasn’t really sure what it was but I was skeptical.

Now for the obvious....you are behind schedule, get rolling and be safe!

    Just.Do.It and spsauerland Thank this.
