A picture would be helpful...........

A picture of what? the factory antenna brackets are just like 387 Petes and cascadias
-
They are not all the same.

Ok either way the factory setup is junk. So what They look like doesn't matter I wanted to know what everybody is doing for their own setups so I can get an idea on what to do
-
What they look like determines what your options are, i.e. as in what after market brackets are available. If yours is like the Cascadia, go to the link below and read, w/pics, what I did. It works as good as anything I've ever run on any truck. If that bracket won't work for your mirror, you'll need to figure out which one will. I'd start at Breedlove Mounts. I like my stuff all stainless, but aluminum will work if you clean it up once or twice a year and get rid of all the oxidation. The basics are; go with as long of an antenna as you can get by with, use good coax and check SWR before using your radio.

I've got a 16 t680. Factory coax is junk. Got a nasty electric noise from it too. But I did get an antenna from a guy in PA. Seems to be helping. The metal antennas seem to work better if running on the factory coax. Perhaps 2 Wilson's will help?
