When I get back on the road in the spring after training I have a choice between the 2 rigs, Curious if anyone has experience or preferences as to which I should choose? Just wondering...Really wishing I could get back into a KW T-680 but I don't think they offer that, clearly that would be my first choice.

The neighbors are buying new Paccars, I don't know specifics other than they run local. They have 3 T800s with it and a T880.

All the newer offerings seem better than the past, I'm running a DD15, 2013, and it's been mostly OK but some updates have been done. The newer ones are better, the older ones were more trouble.

What transmission in the Pete? Their auto is awful.

They now have a new auto.
But to early to tell if it is good or bad.

That’s good. It truly was the worst truck I’ve ever driven and that’s saying a lot.

I found if you let off the gas when it went to shift it might pick a gear in under 12 seconds but don’t get your hopes up. Still never got reverse down. Eventually I just put that truck in the darkest corner of the yard and grabbed a crapcadia no one was using and claimed it as my own. At least it would shift right. My only real complaint about that truck was making you do a parked regen. I’d take the crapcadia over the Pete but I wasn’t a fan of either.

Looks like it varies but there Manual are Eaton Fuller 10s not sure on the Auto Shift however this company does NOT use Auto Shifter they are 100% Manual, I hear Detroit are the better engines ( use to drive a KW 680 that when under a full box couldn't get out of it's own way) The Pete has an 80" roof and 238" WB, the Cascadia has a 72'' Raised Roof and 125" WB both come with EF 10 Transmissions. Being 6'2" the 80" sounds a lot better.
Thank you to everyone who has answered so far, Leaning towards the PETE

It may just be that a few years ago, none of them were reliable?
I have experience with paccar. Gotta admit, from that experience, I don't like paccar.

The 125 is BBC, bumper to back of cab, the sleeper on the Cascadia was roomy, compared to the shorter one I have assigned. The 72 inch condo is probably 236 inch wheelbase or thereabouts.

Full twin mattress instead a smaller one, and wider cabinets, just easier, and it had Isri seating instead of the National I have in the 2013.

The Eaton trans has been good with the DD15.

Since you don't get the choice of a Cummins, it should come down mostly to your preference of cab style. Paccar's have to be serviced at a Paccar dealer (either Pete or KW) and Freightshakers have to be serviced by them. The FL service network is significantly bigger, so if you prefer the Shaker's cab style, go with that one, would mean less down time when something goes wrong with all the computers or DPF/SCR.

The Pete has a much nicer cab IMO. At the end of the day the cascadia did the job better though.

But since you said they are 10 speed I’d go pete all day.
