Mine financed just fine. EPA can't say "you can't run them anymore"... they could only say "you can't build them anymore"... but that would be similar to saying you couldn't repair and older truck, you have to buy a new one.

If you've heard different please share. I've been looking for a 2013 for this reason alone.

Read the posts on the first page... it was poorly written communications from Peterbilt about the change in the wiring. You can still get an earlier harness to plug right into the new multiplexed Peterbilt cab wiring system. Exactly the same situation with Kenworth... in fact, Kenworth already had the new wiring system before they re-started their glider program last summer.

Post #5 explains it well. I have a 2013 Peterbilt 389 with a 2002 6NZ C15, which, according to your info, is impossible. I have almost 10k miles on it now.

Actually, I said it wasn't possible with a 2014. I said that because that's what I've been told. Which is why I asked if you heard something different to please share. Maybe I better re-read my post, wouldn't be the first time I said something and it came out wrong! Sorry if I tinkled in your corn flakes!

You mean wheaties? Idk the whole glider situation you hear so many different things it isn't even funny. Talk to one cat tech and he says cat is no longer going to offer factory reman 6nz motors another says its b.s. one tech says the spa won't let them build gliders anymore another says its b.s. I quit listening to it all. When the frame finally cracks on my truck and there's no way to fix it or something catastrophic happens I'll look into a glider and just pull my motor ecm and trans but I'm hoping that'll be a cold day in hell. Hopefully that thing will run till its got 6 million on the odometer.

    Grey Dodge Thanks this.

my bad... either way, the answer is this: you can still buy and build a glider with a pre-emission engine.

    Grey Dodge Thanks this.

379EXHD, the factory may not offer "factory" reman engines, but the dealers #### sure will offer reman engines. I'm already looking around for a replacement to my 6NZ, I'm thinking C15 ACERT shortblock...
