I have an 2009 pete 386 with the Cummings isx. Replaced the ecm last week. Still get the occasional check engine light with see owners manual. The light will go out and will have no engine faults. I was in a accident that took out my drivers mirror. Replaced it with a mirror that doesnt have a temperature setting for outside air. Will that send false info to ecm?

    Welcome to ISX ECM/wireharness hell.

Doesn't MAF measure air intake temp?

(I say this loving the Cummins ISX- but only, as I'm told- because I'm a glutton for punishment.)

The outside air temp sensor is replaceable separate from the mirror. No need to replace the whole mirror. Old style you can drill out the rivets and replace the sensor, new style needs the whole harness replaced. A 2009 Isx will be an 871 which does not need a OAT sensor and it will not throw a check engine light because of it. The 2250 isx will.
