Truck started fine check engine light and battery light came on for a few seconds. The truck was only sitting for 2 days it was a little cold out for a couple of days. Any idea or is that normal until you run the truck to charge the battery's.

The ECM could have been reading low enough voltage to set a code during crank, the battery light could have been on due to weak batteries. This time of year will put batteries to the ultimate test. If they are getting weak or lazy they will crank and engine fine when it is warm out, but a good cold snap will start to trigger little anomalies like this. I would keep an eye on it and see if the problem persists. Every truck likes to glitch out here and there. Sometimes after a truck has been turned off for a long time, all the electronic modules may take a split second longer to fully boot up, especially when it is cold, and they may not be reporting correct data until everything stabilizes.

Heavy d thanks. How long do batteries last this truck is a 2010.

Batteries don't seem to last as long as they use to. If you get 4 years out of a set of batteries, you are doing pretty good!

So I guess mine are almost out of gas. The alternator is pushing out the amps. The other day when I was in Atlanta and the weather was in the 30 degrees. The apu actually came on because it said the battery amps dropped. It charged for an hour then went off. I was sleeping with the truck off. I guess it had some auto detector if the amps went down. Do you think I should change these battery soon or don't worry about it or maybe it is something else. You know heavy this truck has been a nightmare one thing after another. I have not been able to put together 1 month straight without bringing it in to shop for the last 6 months. It has been tough.

Yes, I know the history you have had with this unit. I understand you have had more than your fair share of problems. Your batteries should be at least tested. If it were me, I would change them. One service call will pay for a set of batteries should they puke this winter. Chances are you could get away with one more year since you have the APU as well to help charge and keep the engine warm.

You should be able to find batteries for at or under $80 each. Just look around. Not a bad idea to change them every few years if your in the snow belt.

Interstate batteries carries 1200CCA batteries for $40 each when you trade in yours, they are reman but they last a few years. Idk if you have an interstate dealer near you but they are located in North Augusta SC here. About 126 miles from atlanta. Great batteries. Not bad @ $40 a battery, Btw they are studded post truck battery, not knock off you find at the auto parts for boats
