Thats what I do. I don’t care if I’m at a guard shack with a line of trucks behind me, if I have to shut the truck down I let it do all it’s stuff before I start it back up.

Yep!
When I wasn’t doing that it’s when I had problems. My salesman who was also a technician at Peterbilt for years told me to do it that way. Unfortunately I ignored him because I knew everything already

Im sure u already tried this but does disconnecting the batteries for a couple minutes change anything?

All I had to do when it would freeze up is turn the key off. Turn the key on again to let everything boot up properly then start the engine.

Unfortunately i cant do that when i am driving down the road and the nearest truck stop is 10 to 15 miles away. Pretty big chance of getting a ticket too if the speed drops and you have no idea how fast you are going.

oof, #### like this is why I don't care for warranties. They already got your money and short of a lawsuit which will cost even more money and time you can't do anything to make them stand by their warranty. With an old truck it's the opposite when something breaks you have the cash and the shop needs to do the job to your satisfaction to get that cash.D.Tibbitt Thanks this.

The only time mine froze last year I just opened the Speed Box app on my phone so that I had a speedometer and kept driving until I got to Winnemucca. Pulled into the Flying J for my 30 and when I started the truck everything was fine. If you have a gps unit you’d also have your speed on that so you can avoid getting a ticket. I’d be upset if I were in your shoes given all the other issues you’ve gone through, but sometimes you have to think about options that don’t involve hitting the shoulder of the road immediately.77fib77, Concorde, D.Tibbitt and 1 other person Thank this.

Is there warranty past 100k miles? I will admit I didn’t read thru my warranty stuff to see what all is covered. The dash warranty could stop at 100k like the rest of the stuff in the cab.
Siinman Thanks this. -
It was freezing back until November last year and they updated the program for the 2nd time. So far, its been working alright so far. Just a few small glitches such as the dash dimming however I believe thats a factory type of designrd reset. My digital radio dash including some digital guages reset a few times but never shut off since the program up date. I personally don't like to much computer technology in a truck but according to my dealership they said no more analog dashes are available on never Peterbilts & prices have already increased in 2023 more than 20% which is ridiculous.

Be fortunate that you aren’t in my shoes today!
Just got my first derate alert that I am unable to solve on my own ( Engine and Exhaust alerts).
Fortunately I delivered my load yesterday and was deadheading out of Washington for the last time. Sitting at the Petro in Spokane now waiting for the dealership to open tomorrow.
Been on the road a solid 10 weeks and was finally looking forward to making my way back home to Florida for a couple weeks off.
Luckily I canceled the load I had booked out of here for tomorrow before I impacted my carrier score with the broker.
Was so looking forward to leaving Washington today!
So tempted right now to shut everything down, sell the truck and trailer and retire..
