He messed up, majorly. That said does he deserve to spend his life behind bars? I don't believe so. 20-25 years I think would be more fair.

25 years sounds good.
But whoever gave him his licence, and his boss, they also should get 25 each.skellr, BennysPennys, BaakenRoadRanger and 17 others Thank this. -
Now that's a petition I could get behind.skellr, BennysPennys, Mattflat362 and 6 others Thank this.

Why does 25 years soun good? He was remorseful. What difference will that make for the kid. HE clearly was not qualified to drive the truck even though he had a license to do so. So for this kid it was an accident. An accident where peoples lives were lost. He didnt wake up in the morning and say" hey let me risk my life by burnin these brakes up and kill people in the process". Drunk drivers kill people behind the wheel. People texting and driving kill people. The list goes on. They rarely get 25 years. Yes in todays politics, an example has to be made. But 25 years behind bars isnt going to do anything for him and wont teach him a lesson. The cdl program failed him. Also, its kinda childish to say his boss should do time also. On what grounds? To be honest, 5 years and out in one year with parole sounds better suited.OldeSkool, Badmon, bryan21384 and 2 others Thank this.

So he should only get 6.25 years for each person he killed? How about the other 6 people who were injured. How many lives did he ruin that day? IMO he got the right number of years.

I read a story that this driver pulled off earlier because his brakes were smoking. If someone told him to continue before his brakes cooled down, they should be in jail.

I think paying for a guy to rott in prison is insane. If you want him to die there just finish it and do him and the tax payers a favour. 25 years is prison is a long enough time to spend thinking about what you did.

Actually he did the day he fraudulently obtained his CDL. After all, there was no legal way for him to get it as he can't read English. He knowingly put everyone at risk everytime he started up the truck he was driving illegally.hotrod1653, BunBaoPho88, dwells40 and 2 others Thank this.

But does that warrant rotting away in a cell for the rest of his life?
bryan21384 and Pamela1990 Thank this.
