This sets a very dangerous precedent for all of us truckers. Be careful what you wish for here.

Does anyone truly believe that signing this or any petition is going to work? The government has Zero obligation to listen to you or change the ruling just because you and a few thousand friends think they’re wrong. If that was the case I’d make a petition to have everyone one of those guys in the government Fired.
ZVar and TheLoadOut Thank this. -
We all have a voice that can be heard especially in great numbers. Petitions do work. Do a little research on this subject.

I doubt it, but it don't hurt to show support for a cause. Many truckers think petitioning our leaders in Washington will get a lot of their gripes reversed, and they have 0 zero obligation to care about that as well.

I don't care what language he reads or writes. He could have put the truck in a ditch or up the runaway ramp. He chose to hit and kill others to protect himself. He is a coward and serial killer. He should be executed or rot in prison.
JonJon78, Last Call and TheLoadOut Thank this. -
The guy who was texting or actually sexting on his phone and failed to stop for traffic on I-16 in Georgia and killed those 5 nursing students got 5 years....

To say it again....
Just because there is one miscarriage of justice doesn't mean all cases should follow suit. -

There will be Appeals presented.
Whether the Appeals secure anything will be seen unless the Appeals are rejected.
Petition Signings were near 4.5 Million recently. -
so because this guy had multiple options to put his truck off the side of the road instead of killing people he should get a slap on the wrist after making the wrong choice? it does not take any kind of trucking experience to understand that ramming a big truck into tiny cars at high speed will kill people. it doesnt take english to understand that or any kind of knowledge about trucking.. he had multiple options to take a runaway ramp he had multiple opportunities to run the truck in the ditch... the guy couldve turned to the right just as easily he turned to the left when he was driving on the shoulder at high speeds... but what was his choice after all the opportunities he was presented? to close his eyes and steer into stopped traffic... now we should give him a way out just because he feels remorse and just because he was crying in court and how sorry he feels for the victims family? maybe he shouldve made a different choice and he wouldnt be in the predicament that he is in now..
