yes lets go after the trucking company so we can get another nuclear verdict and further increase the insurance rates for every company involved in trucking... great idea... you guys should think before signing crap like this. because thats exactly where this is going from here

If I felt it was inadvertent, yes I would. You need to understand me as a man. I'm a very nice guy lol. I'd do anything for anyone if I can, and if it will help them; even if it's my enemy. I'm a forgiving person, and I do my best to try and see the good in everyone. No matter how I get treated, or done wrong, I'm not a man that seeks revenge, nor do I wish the worst on anyone. I actually like to see people happy, however they get there. As for "who's cause," it ain't mine bro. Maybe it's his.. I don't know. I don't agree with what's transpired, but I'm not about to lose sleep over it. What's done is done, and at the end of the day we all gotta accept it for what it is.

To answer some of these questions, yes. Just like in our line of work, if railroad engineers are involved in an accident that result in a fatality they’re given a drug screen. Also like our line of work, before the train leaves the station it is federally mandated to check the equipment on the train before it departs, especially the brakes(pretrip). Secondly, in some countries(especially in Asian countries-Taiwan and Singapore especially come to mind) as far as aviation accidents go, if said accidents involve serious injury or fatality the flight crew can possibly be charged with negligence and can face a lengthy prison term or other sanctions.Hulld Thanks this.

Here he is barreling down the road, and the aftermath. I'd wipe my ### with that petition and throw it in his cell.

Here is a video of how many trucks actually use the ramp he passed.
drvrtech77 and PacoTaco Thank this. -
The question has been asked repeatedly in this thread what would I think if it was my wife that was killed in the accident. I probably wouldn't be mad at the kid. I would be mad at the company that put him out there not knowing what the #### he was doing.
And I would think he should serve 5 to 10 years. Lack of training is not an excuse, but his current sentence is too harsh.
And he should do 5 to 10 years not for making the decision to kill my wife, but for not making a decision at all. For not doing the heroic thing and taking only himself out. It was lack of decision, not a malicious decision.
Moreso, I would want to see the person who gave him a CDL and the company who gave him a truck looked into.Speedy356, MidWest_MacDaddy, drvrtech77 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Those costs just get passed on to the customer. Don't protect all trucking companies on behalf of a potentially bad one.

Thanks for the response but I didn’t ask about drug screening after accidents or “possible” charges to flight crews.
I asked for real world cases of pilots and just random everyday people who have had car accidents were there were deaths and the people were charged and given 100 year plus sentences? -
To put this in some prospective, he was given 4.2 years for each count he was convicted of.
