Started on Nov 22 with pgt. So far so good. Hopefully testing out to my own truck in another week. Nice 1st experience as a student, getting lots of drive time ,experience with different loads. Coils, pipe, a/c units all in 1st week.
Jphill .. we probably crossed paths when you were tseting out Nov 29th. I was there doing securement training waiting for my trainer that Monday n Tuesday.. -
I didn't get there until Wednesday night and left Friday around lunch. I am now sitting at home until tomorrow afternoon. I'm leaving here at 5 or so and heading for Harahan, LA. I got the pictures of the bridges I just have to upload them when I get back to the truck.

I haven't posted because they been keeping me so busy. Will update when I have time.

I'm looking to get on with PGT, my school teacher recommended them also.
I have my permit right now with hazmat, tankers, double/triples. Also got a TWIC card and pasport already.
Does PGT ever get run up into canada? How is the 25% pay thing working out? -
Long as nothing prevents you from going into canada then you can go as much as you want. 25% works out pretty good. I had a load the other day that paid me .77 cents a mile.
-
that's a pretty good pay right there.
My entire background is clean, just seperated from the navy after 6 years. I got tired of sitting over in the middle east doing nothing but chasing waves.
I know you haul mostly steel and parts, but do you ever get or scene hazmat? -
No we don't haul hazmat. Southern Pines another company also owned by Sudbury(PGT parent company) hauls the hazmat. Don't get me wrong about the pay every load doesn't pay that much. I had a load coming out of Laredo, TX that paid $1.04/mile to the truck and I only get 25.5% of that. I hopefully never get another load like that again the pay wasn't even worth tarping it.
