Swift has a class you can take that will get you pulling flatbed. Check into it. I know someone that is in the same boat and he is going with Swift.

I currently work for PGT Trucking. They have been great to me. They caught me a ride home for Thanksgiving and flying me back up this week to test out for my truck.

Peterbilt-I would suggest going with pgt over swift. They will hire you with 6 months experience or directly out of an approved school. They run east of I35 and expect drivers to stay out every other weekend. They pay percentage. They haul a lot of steel and dry wall out of baltimore. From what ive heard from the drivers they have a very good training program and you live in a very good area for them they run I70 a lot. I was offered a job with them about a year ago but declined but the recruiter i talked to was very nice and helpful and ive never heard any of their drivers complain. Good luck

Have you tried Maverick? I'm not sure if they hire in your area but it might be worth checking into.

They actually try to get you home every weekend but only guarantee every other weekend.
