    Phoenix is now the 5th largest city in the nation. Almost 1.7 million. When you count all the cities around it, it's like 4.5 million.
    AND
    They are going to start construction on all the freeways now????????????? Cause they have surplus of money in the transportation tax coffers.
    Hope I live long enough to see it all completed since I'm going to suffer through it.

    I lived in Phoenix back in the 80's when the only freeways were I-10 and I-17. I hadn't been back since I started driving and was amazed at the growth and all the new freeways. I lived near Union Hills and 7th Ave and back then that was at the edge of town. I was there earlier this week - looks like they're building another freeway along 59th Ave.

    That's going to be an extension of the 202. Hop on that, and you can go all the way down to South edge of town heading Tucson and avoid all the madness of Phoenix all together. The 303 when completed will be a total bypass.
