    Hello!

A couple of friends who I grew up with do long-haul and suggested an idea to me that I am in the process of building. This is a software based solution around a common frustration they have while driving - I can't really say more about it just yet.

To take the service to a beta phase, I need to build an application for a phone. I would like to build it for the most commonly phone operating system used.

I am hoping you can help me out and answer these three questions:

    1. What operating system is your phone?
      1. e.g. iPhone, Android, Windows Phone, Symbian, Other or "just a phone that makes calls"
    2. Is your phone Internet enabled?
    3. Who is your carrier?
Thank you, your help is appreciated.

    Hi, thanks for replying!

No, that's not it. I've done a lot of research and so far there is nothing out there like what I am building. I've scoured iTunes, the android app market and a bunch of other websites. It's not a log book, not a stop finder, not a fuel price tracker.

So, are you an Apple guy or an Android guy? :)

    I have a Blackberry.

The app I posted was built by a friend of mine. Good for North America as the GPS knows when you cross an International border and the appropriate Log Rules for that country kick in. For instant, reset is 34 hrs in the USA and 36 in Canada. The price is very affordable too and gives you electronic logs. Caycan charge you $21.00 a year for storing 6 months of logs at a time. Cheaper than buying log books.

Thank you. That is a pretty cool feature, the GPS rest period tie in. How does it handle offline data? Is a persistent connection required?

Iphone, but that may likely change within the next couple of months. Verizon has better service than AT&T (IMHO)
