To sum it up...When dealing with cops be polite. Be courteous and civil. But for God's sake keep your mouth shut except for giving a direct answer to a direct question.
A cop's silence will sometimes intimidate a person and they'll get nervous and start to run their mouth. Cops count on this. When you realize that, all of a sudden , you're doing all the talking and the cop is doing all the listening you're probably already in over your head.
