Let's not bring that discussion here. We already have several threads running on it.

FW I don't want to beat a dead horse, nor am I trying to rag on you. And I probably missed something here.

It seems to me you left $2.5k on the table this week because you didn't want to DH 500 miles? Did I miss something? You would have had a $10k week but because of a $400 load you now have a $7k week. Seems to me that $400 was more like $3k. If it was me I would have bounced 500 miles.

But we all know I'm not at SNI so I probably don't understand what happened. Honestly you all work to hard for me. Your doing team now and avg 1000 miles a day. I would only work 2 days a week then. Gee not a bad idea.

But really FW don't let me give you too hard a time. I like that you are trying something new and willing to share with everyone your ups and downs. I hope everyone gains from what you and others share here.

    Yes you did miss something.
Thought I explained fairly clear but I guess not.

First of all i have no idea where you got the idea that I will have a $7k week. I was a little over $7k yesterday with like 4-5 hours left of driving time for the day.
For me to end the week at $7k that would have meant sitting rest of the day yesterday, sitting today and then sitting tomorrow. Nowhere have I said I'm going to sit the rest of the week so I don't know where you got that from.

As far as those loads go at a moment I had the opinion of booking a load going into the Northeast, a load leaving the Northeast (.80 load) and a load going to Iowa. The .80 load would have brought me exactly to the load leaving going to Iowa that paid good.
If I did those loads I have have been a little over $10k for the week on Monday with a live unload at noon.
I was ready to book them, started pulling all three loads but the .80 load got taken and there was no other option leaving the Northeast unless deadheading 500+ miles soooo I decided against booking the other two loads. In other words I did not go to the Northeast.
A lot of people here think deadheading 500+ miles out of the Northeast is a great idea, way I look at it is even if I got $2 going in and had to deadhead 500+ miles leaving then all in all that trip would have me at running at $1 a mile all miles.. probably a little less before doing the Iowa load.
$1 a mile all miles going in and out of the Northeast might some awesome to some but it does not for me.
If I wanted to run for $1 all miles (which I don't) there sure are a lot better ways of doing so rather than going to the freaking northeast.
Soo I figured I would do something else and now today we are.
That's pretty much how all that went down.

So what did you end up booking to keep moving?

I'm sure you're not just sitting so how close to 10k did you come.

I'm currently doing a relay load in the midwest then bring my truck to the shop because my fridge is broke and AC in the sleeper is messed up.

Those of us advocating bouncing 500 miles are working under the idea that we got enough going in that after a 500 bounce we are still averaging good coin, far far above a buck a mile.
