    Now hear this!
    Now hear this!
All theoretical revenue math must now be done in basement 3 using Fuzzy Math.
Any word problems must be expressed in Esperanto.
Shuffleboard has been moved to the Lido deck.

    That is all.

i add the dh to load i take to dead hole because i know before i take the load the likely hood of find good load is low. i do my books end of the week and month and i divide every miles the truck moves to revenue.

you will lose time picking up cheap load and deliverying the load, by the time you could have dead head where ever, get load and go. I give you for example last week i pick up load from Charlotte nc to plattsburg, ny. the load was paying really good but every thing that was leaving plattsburg was cheap so i just dead head to erie, oh and pick up load that night that was going to atlanta. If i would get load from plattsburg i would have to delivery next day and try to get load at that time.

Not really. I bounce 500 miles all the time. At least once a month when I'm out on the road and nor running my local stuff. Heck bouncing a thousands miles isn't unheard of. But the deal is, that load going in paid for that bounce plus the time involved in bouncing. My farthest bounce in recent memory was idaho to st louis. What's that?1800 miles?

Rates are too low here to be deadheading endless hundreds of miles.

So now consider a breakdown and SEM takes 5 hrs which then SNI pulls your string of loads you are taking the cheap load to pick up. Truck breaks (as mine has frequently ) now you have to pay a 400 dollar relay fee. Cheaper all the way around in my operation to deadhead.

It don't make sense for most bit for me it does.losing 2500 because I missed a 400 dollar load in today's market and competitive environment doesn't fit my business model which is Always about getting home EVERY week.

Case in point it Looks like a 500 plus mile deadhead after delivery tomorrow to the house unless a load pops up before I deliver.

If we're going to play theoreticals then think of all the downside too not just the upside.

Oh and I never understand PAYING to haul SNI freight and they profit.if your costs are lower than .80 cpm then you may break even or show tiny profit however my costs are more than .80 cpm (.93 cpm average ) so anything lower than .93 I am actually paying to haul freight.

So I'd rather pay to deadhead than to deliver freight.

Maybe some can explain to me how I am earning more money deadheading 500 miles and paying $100+ for fuel vs taking a load 500 miles to the same area for $400 in Revenue and maybe $180 in fuel.

I still don't get it, maybe math doesnt count because i am using math lol.

    Did you book it?

Did you make up the revenue you missed by not deadheading?

I'm not saying your right or wrong that's your decision however sometimes it's best to deadhead sometimes it's not.

    Your choice.

But to come on here and complain there's no solo freight for you on the team board is going to rile those of us on the solo board who read it as you want access to all the freight and to hell with us solo drivers.

    Either way good luck.

    I'm out.
