BTW, other than the initial start up costs and insurance, there isn't anything extra in cost compared to being leased onto SNI. You'll maybe use 10-15% of that 35% you lose from SNI fir those extra expenses.

@redoctober83 - well said but how do you account for Swift and Werner both downsizing their fleets and refusing contract freight due to low rates?

Yes, I do enjoy creative writting and would have published at least one novel if I could stomach the editing process. Rereading what I wrote for the 15th time is akin to asking a four year old to listen to Ralph Waldo Emerson lectures set to New Age Jazz. However threads like this give me an opportunity to stretch my literary legs. I figure if we're going to stray from logic and reason while only maintaining a slight connection to reality I might as well have some fun along the way.

My outlook on relationships is the same. Maybe that's why I keep ending up single?

Reason for edit: Fat fingers and Tennman charges too much for proofreading

Perhaps you should have a few sips of the peach Moonshine and get back to us and disclose a little. (As I walk to my closet preparing to put my tin foil hat on).:D

I'm on the side that freight in general does indeed suck and has somewhat tanked. Not gonna get into the endless articles but the one above is a good example, with "Swift and Werner both downsizing their fleets and refusing contract freight due to low rates".
Soo i cant get mad at Schneider for about freight sucking because that's everywhere but I can get frustrated at them bring on more and more ICs when we don't need anymore.
Honestly i haven't noticed much change in rates until oh about two months ago, guessing thats when some of my contact freight came up and rates were cut.
Rates have never neen an issue for me while on the solo board, what become an issue was there being a lot less freight to pick from.
Back when I started through Summer I would have many many options per day to pile on 2-3 loads a day no problem. Since last fall just having one option to make that work become difficult and I ran more longer runs being there wasnt enough short ones to play "connect the short loads with".
As for the team board yes it really does suck and if I planned on teaming for the long term it wouldnt be here.
How many other carriers would say "well being you're a team we're only gonna make available to you 1% of our total available Van loads".
Thats pretty much working the team board here is like.
I am doing it because things sorta fell into place, yes I am making more money overall and hey I can switch back to the solo side easily if I choose to. Plus it's nice to do something different. I was getting tired and running the same circles over and over again.

My truck is running somewhat ###### at the moment which leaves me a little low on testosterone. I want to find something to argue with you about but I can't. And I do love a good substantiated argument. It's just not as bad as some will make it seem is all.
Sni has figured out some guys are content making 6 to 800 a week as long as they are paying towards a truck. Bonehead had it right when he called it company choice. I hate to say it but he did.
Some of us still have this bad boy figured out and do very well. I guess it's all a matter of how you look at it.
