I was going to do this but I can't find any good recipes. The recipes I found on line were complicated and just looked to complicated to do on the truck. I mean can you just throw in chicken tenderloin and vegetables? It can't be that easy.

Stop at truck fridge next to the Pilot in Georgetown, KY. ( The Pilot on the east side of I-75.). They supply paccar with the drawer style fridge if this is the one you have. If it says IndelB on the front it's from them. They can do service on it there.Home_on_wheels Thanks this.

Actually, it pretty much is. You need to add a little liquid to some things, but yup. I make burritos by tossing in a little bit of a pork roast then a small jar of salsa. Let that stew all afternoon and daaaannngggg. Toss it on a tortilla with some cheese and it's good eats.Cledus Snow and scythe08 Thank this.

I'm assuming we're mainly guys here and I strongly recommend YouTube as an excellent resource. We're visual and seeing how someone makes a crock pot meal makes it look like something not to complicated which is the case.

Can't you wrap potatoes up in foil and toss them on that grill? Or would it take to long on a little propane grill?

In this months Landline Magazine they had an article from a lady trucker who's been on the road for I think 20 something years and she published a cook book for truckers/travelers.
It's like $8 bucks on Amazon. The reviews on it are good.
It's called Travelers Cookbook by Patricia Churchet -
Here's a good place to start

I just look at the recipes and modify them as needed to work with what I can do in the truck.
All it really comes down to is making sure things are cooked all the way through properly, especially meats. Just look at the basic cooking settings and times and modify the ingredients in the recipe for what you can carry in the truck or fir the complexity you want.
Here is one for doing a whole chicken.

Honestly, that's really how simple crock pot cooking is. Throw what you want in it, set the temp to high or low and let it cook. You can do pies and cobblers in the crock pot as well.bigred81 and Cledus Snow Thank this.

I just struggle with the smell distracting me while I drive lol. Tend to use a grill and a microwave more...
